Belgium at second glance

I will take you on classic or unusual walks through Brussels and the surrounding area or to less frequently visited places such as Dinant, Liège, Namur or secret favorite Mechelen, where you can walk across the water in biblical fashion.

I show the Europaviertel with its architectural stubbornness and surprising perspectives to all those who want to stretch their legs between meetings and receptions and take an original look at the institutions.

I will also take you to Ypres, Ostend, Bruges, Ghent or Antwerp to take a closer look at special spots there.

Which way ?

Do you live in Brussels, for example, and want to get out and about?
You don't even have to travel far.

The somewhat different excursion

A discovery tour, preferably by bike, around the airport Brussels Airportsurrounded by three nature reserves. Don't forget your binoculars, there are plenty of (steel) birds.

Out of bounds and out of the country

Francophone and Flemish spirits are divided on the Brussels border. Fortunately, plants are not at loggerheads. In the Botanical Garden in Meise , we sail between the plant continents.

Out of bounds (II)

When you say abbey, you say beer. On the outskirts of Brussels, the Norbertines in Grimbergen are brewing their own beer again.

Unique Mechelen, the city of powerful women

Halfway between Brussels and Antwerp lies my favorite city : the refreshing city of Mechelen. Mechelen. Urban planners with vision have given the people of Mechelen back their water. You can even walk over it. What's more, the tower of St Rombouts Cathedral is the only one in the country where you can walk around freely. Margaretha of Yourk and later Margarethe of Austria, the aunt of emperor Charles V, ruled over the Burgundian empire from Mechelen.

Brussels challenges

I travel all over the country, but I've been working in Brussels for 30 years. This sometimes rough and tumble city doesn't always make it easy for its visitors and residents to like it - if you accept its shortcomings, you'll recognize its charms at second glance.

Brussels connects and where you come from doesn't matter. That's why nobody claims the city for themselves. "The city is all of us". Everyone can be at home here.

Fries, wafles and chocolates, you'll certainly find them on your own. Together, we discover more of Belgium.
